Puffins don't hang around Ketchikan, the waters are too calm . A lot of them hang out on the outer islands though and I was surprised when I saw them they are a lot smaller than I thought they would be. To me they look like a well dressed Cornish game hen.  They like the outside water because the waters are rough and bring up a lot more feed for them to catch.

I almost always mat this in a gray mat.  The remarque looks good though don't you think.
