Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo (re-villa-gig-GAY-doe) Island. The water that separates it from the mainland is Behm Canal (pronounced beam). On the map it looks insignificant and possibly one could jump in and swim to the other shore. This is not a good idea. Some of the greatest salmon rivers in the world empty into this stretch of water and following those salmon are these fellows. They have not to my knowledge eaten anyone, however there is always a first time and the one you are looking at may not have gotten the memo.
