An interesting fact about the octopus is they have de centralized brains.  The majority of its neurons live in the legs of the creature.  Now I don't know if I would be real comfortable letting my arms and legs have their own brain.  I have a hard enough time staying out of trouble with just one brain and making my arms and legs behave themselves.
